During the commodities boom, Mongolia’s stock market more than doubled in a single year. That was 2010 and a lot has changed, with the nation’s benchmark down for a seventh straight week, the longest stretch of declines since March, 2013. Mongolia has been hit hard by the slump in commodities and the slowdown affecting its larger neighbors, Russia and China, with the currency falling 24 straight days through the middle of last month.
