Mongolia Nov coal exports hit a record high
Coal-rich Mongolia exported 3.81 million tonnes of coal in November, soaring 77.97% from 2.14 million tonnes in October this year, hitting a record high, showed data from the Mineral Resources Authority of Mongolia.
Over January-November, coal exports of the country surged 80.39% from the preceding year to 22.51 million tonnes, the data showed.
Exports of washed coking coal increased 280% from a month ago to 0.61 million tonnes in November, while that of raw coking coal rose 85.65% from October to 1.31 million tonnes.
The country exported 0.47 million tonnes of thermal coal in the month, dropping 17.38% month on month.
In the first eleven months, Mongolia produced 29.33 million tonnes of coal, with output in November gaining 30.4% on the month to 4.82 million tonnes.
Its coal output stood at 24 million tonnes last year, down 1.64% year on year.
Over January-November, Mongolia sold 29.08 million tonnes of coal, with domestic sales at 6.68 million tonnes.
In November, coal sales gained 58.9% on month to 4.81 million tonnes, with domestic sales rising 13.1% from October to 1 million tonnes.
